시행일 2026년 8월 25일 · drof(iOS · Android · macOS · Windows · 웹)
(Google Firebase Cloud Messaging)
Firebase
DROF.
Privacy Policy
Effective 25 August 2026 · drof (iOS · Android · macOS · Windows · Web)
drof is a peer-to-peer file transfer app that works without a login. We do not create accounts, and we do not store the files you send on our servers.
This document sets out what the app handles and what it does not.
1. What we do not collect
- No account information at all — no name, email address, phone number or date of birth. There is no sign-up.
- We do not store the contents of transferred files on any server.
- We do not read your contacts, your full photo library, your call history or your location. When you send something, only the items you pick at that moment are accessed.
- We use no advertising identifiers and include no third-party SDK for advertising or analytics. The only third-party component in the app is Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, used to deliver notifications (see 3-2).
2. What is stored on your device
The following is stored on your device. Of these, only the values needed to establish a connection (such as the device identifier) are passed to the relay server within the scope described in section 3; nothing else leaves your device.
- Paired device list
- Device names and device identifiers (fingerprints), used only to confirm you are connected to the right device. You can unpair a device at any time in Settings.
- Cryptographic keys
- Keys used so devices can verify each other. The public value (fingerprint) shown to the other device is passed to that device and to the signalling server; the secret value never leaves your device. It is stored in an app-scoped area with permissions that prevent other apps from reading it, and is removed when the app is uninstalled.
- Recent transfer history
- File name, size, time and the other device's name. Kept for up to 30 days, then deleted automatically.
- Received files
- Saved to an app-scoped area of your device's storage; the screen tells you the exact path where the file was saved. The app does not upload received files anywhere. ⚠️ Because the area is app-scoped, uninstalling the app also removes the files you received — move them elsewhere first if you want to keep them.
- App settings
- Values such as whether notifications are on or off.
3. What the servers do during a transfer
A signalling server is used only while two devices find each other and establish a connection. During that time it handles the minimum values required
(device identifier, online status, connection negotiation data) only for the duration of the connection, and retains nothing once the connection ends.
File contents are never uploaded to or stored on a server. The same is true when you send via a link (/r/{token}) —
link transfers use the same mechanism as device-to-device transfers, and no file data passes through the server that establishes the connection.
However, on networks where two devices cannot connect directly (corporate networks, some public Wi-Fi, restrictive firewalls),
a relay server operated by drof itself may forward the packets in their encrypted form.
Even then the server cannot see the contents and does not store them; nothing remains once the transfer ends.
No external provider is used for this relay.
A link expires after 10 minutes and is valid only while the app is open. Once it expires, or once you close the app, the link can no longer be used to receive the file.
3-3. Partially received files (resume)
If a transfer is interrupted, the part received so far is kept on the receiving device so that
sending the same file again can continue from that point. The fragment and its resume record stay
on the receiving device only and are never sent to a server.
They are removed after 24 hours, or as soon as the transfer completes or is cancelled.
3-2. Notification delivery (Google Firebase Cloud Messaging)
We use Google Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver notifications. A notification token issued to your device is passed to Google and to
the drof server, and is used solely to send notifications to that device. If you do not grant notification permission, no token is used.
For Google's processing, see the Firebase privacy notice.
4. Permissions
- Photos · Files access
- Only when you choose what to send. Nothing beyond the items you select is read.
- Notifications
- To tell you when a file arrives. The app works normally if you decline.
- Local network (iOS)
- To connect directly to your own devices on the same Wi-Fi. Without it, connections may be slower or may fail.
5. Retention
- Files: not retained on any server. Even when they pass through the relay, they pass through only during the transfer and are not stored.
- Link tokens: 10 minutes from issue.
- Recent transfer history: up to 30 days on the device. Deleted automatically after 30 days.
- Partially received fragments and resume records: 24 hours (immediately on completion or cancellation).
- Paired device information (device identifier · public key · notification token): removed from our servers within 24 hours after you unpair. Even if you never unpair, it is deleted automatically 180 days after last use (30 days for pairings made through a web link).
5-1. Requesting deletion
DROF. does not create accounts. All that remains on our servers is a device identifier, a public key and a notification token; file contents are never stored.
- Unpair the device in the app's settings.
- That device's identifier, public key and notification token are deleted from our servers within 24 hours.
- To request deletion directly, write to help@axim.one. We process such requests within 7 business days and confirm the outcome.
6. Your choices
- You can unpair any paired device in Settings.
- Recent transfer history is deleted automatically after 30 days (there is currently no separate control to clear it).
- You can turn notifications off (also possible in your OS settings).
- Deleting the app removes the pairing information, keys and history that the app stored. Files you already received are removed as well, because they are saved in an app-scoped area — move them elsewhere first if you want to keep them.
7. Children
The app is not directed to children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, we will post it here with a new effective date. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
